HOBGOOD, NC – Helen Marie Taylor Heath, age 92, of 4th Street, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Helen was born on November 25, 1929 to John David Taylor and Pearlie Ruth James Taylor in Tarboro, NC. Helen was a devoted member of Hobgood Baptist Church and served as the former treasurer and loved her church family dearly. She was married to the love of her life, Eric, for 74 years and lived in California for many years. She spent her time at home taking care of her husband and children until they got out of school and then became a bank teller, which she enjoyed very much. Helen enjoyed spending time cross stitching and painting. She cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Eric Stevenson Heath; a grandson, Steven Heath; and her sister, Nancy Clark Taylor.
Left to cherish Helen’s memory is her beloved husband, Eric; two daughters, Dianne Heath Humphreys of Tarboro, and Karen Heath Clary and husband Ricky Lee Clary of Wilson; three granddaughters, Jody Humphreys Bicondlia and husband Ryan of Scottsdale, AZ, Erica Lee Clary of Wilson, and Sarah Heath; a grandson, Matthew Rick Clary and wife Amber of Wilson; two great-grandsons, Jackson Heath and Tyler Bicondlia; and three great-granddaughters, Grace Heath, Taylor Marie Branch, and Allyson Lee Twiddy.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service in Scotland Neck and other times at the home.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Hobgood Baptist Church in Hobgood, with Rev. Don Glendenning officiating. Burial will follow at Hobgood Cemetery.
