AHOSKIE – Howard Vick, Jr., age 64, of the 500 block of W. First St., Died Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mr. Vick was born in Newsoms, Southampton County, VA, on August 21, 1946, a son of Howard, Sr. and Mildred Ada Blowe Vick. He was a member of Menola Baptist Church and was an employee for the Town of Ahoskie.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Howard Davidson Vick of Ayden, NC; his sister, Jane Ellen Vick of Ahoskie; an uncle, Ernest Blowe of Ahoskie; and a special friend, Gwen Northcott of Menola.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Menola Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert May officiating. Burial will follow in Ahoskie Cemetery. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA, 22312. The family will receive friends at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday September 7, and other times at the home of Jane Ellen Vick, 113 Carlyle Askew Drive, Ahoskie, NC.
I am so sorry to hear of Howard’s death. I had no idea that he had even been sick. We use to work together in CF Industries in Winton,NC. He also married a distant cousin of mine. I am truly sorry for your loss. I will keep this family and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

To the family of Mr.Howard Vick,Jr i do adtend my deepest sympathy to you in your time of the lost of your love one i met Mr.Howard some time back when my uncle and aunt where living in menola Pauline and Clyde Artie’s i work with him doing tobacco season,may the peace of God comfort you at this time, earth has no sorrow that heaven cant heal.
