Miss Ila Louise Taylor age 91, of Cullen Road, most recently a resident of Guardian Care of Ahoskie passed away peacefully at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital on Wednesday the 23rd of January.
Miss Taylor was born in Hertford County on December 8th 1921, a daughter of the late William Jefferson and Ila Newsome Taylor. She was predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Her friends and family will always benefit from the wisdom she possessed and willingly shared gained from her long life of Christian service. She loved to travel and was always ready to go anyplace at most anytime especially NC State basketball games. Miss Louise loved basketball, baseball and many other sports.
She was a lifetime member of Christian Harbor Baptist Church, actively involved in the Women’s Missionary Union, and many other church programs and ministries.
She was a care giver for her father, mother and sisters during illnesses, and to many elderly in her community. She was a retiree of West Point Pepperell.
I have such fond memories of Louise and feel blessed to have known her.
You lived your life by the highest Christian principles and demonstrated every day how we should treat our neighbors. We always felt better after visiting with you than before we arrived. You did that by sharing your positive attitude and love. Our lives have been blessed by the time we had with you, and our memories will continue to warm our hearts in the years to come. We are very grateful to Brenda Hoggard for the many years she devoted to ensuring your needs were met. Thanks to the ladies and staff at Guardian Care for brightening Aunt Louise’s days there. We will miss you, Cindy & Jeff
