WILMINGTON – Inez Brown Pierce, age 89, of Racine Drive, formerly of Colerain, NC, died Saturday, September 18, 2011, at Liberty Commons, in Wilmington, NC.
Mrs. Pierce was born in Bertie County on December 23, 1921, a daughter of the late Luther and Johnnie Leggett Brown. She was a member of Colerain Baptist Church, a homemaker, and was the widow of Herman Pierce.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, James E. Pierce and his wife, Ann Bradley of Wilmington, NC; a grandson, Edward Pierce of Columbia, MD; a step grandson, John C. Bradley of Wilmington, her sisters, Ann Batchelor of Durham, NC, and Florence Norville of Severn, MD; and her brother, Dr. Arthur Brown of Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie on Wednesday, September 21, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Roberts, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., prior to services on Wednesday.
