Mrs. Isla Rea Davis Futrell, age 71 died at her home in Conway on Tuesday, September 09, 2008. She was a native of Northampton County and married to Carroll Eugene Futrell, Sr. in 1955. They have enjoyed 53 years of marriage to which was born four children. Mrs. Futrell was a member of the Conway Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She worked in the public school system as a teacher’s assistant for twenty-eight years. Mrs. Futrell retired in 1997 from the Seaboard Coates Elementary School. Preceding her in death are her mother and father, Christine Elam and Clifton Davis, Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Carroll Eugene Futrell, Sr. of the home, one daughter, Elizabeth F. Vick and her husband Ricky of Rich Square, three sons; Carroll Eugene Futrell, Jr. of Murfreesboro, Steve Lewis Futrell and his wife Ruth of Farmville and William David Futrell of his wife Linda of Winterville, one sister, Cary Barnes and her husband Leo of Colerain, one brother, Clifton Davis, Jr. and his wife Faye of Conway, one great aunt, Mary Lou Schmidt of Richmond, VA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Tina Futrell, Jennifer Vick, Billy Futrell and his wife Su, John Futrell, Stacey Vick, Candy Hall and her husband Ricky, Crystal Warren and her husband Michael, April Chase and Jonathan McLawhorn, twelve great grandchildren; Makei and Mya Mabine, Amy Futrell, Landace and Amber Chase, Satin, Diamond, Merecedez and Storm Hall, Kizzy, Kayla and Kris Warren.
