Jacqueline “Jackie” Duncan Hardy, 79, of Scotland Neck, passed away on December 5, 2023 at Bryan Health and Rehab of Scotland Neck, NC

Jackie was born on January 25, 1944 to Eldridge Taylor and Ruby Myrtle Vick in Conway. She graduate from Conway High School in 1962. Jackie was married to the late Lee Junior Duncan for 33 years and to this marriage was born two children. She worked as a secretary at Conway Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck, and the North Roanoke Baptist Association. In 1997, Jackie married Paul Hardy, Jr. They were blessed with 27 years of marriage. She was an artist. During her years working at the North Roanoke Baptist Association, she drew every church in the association. These beautiful drawings hang at the association office to this day. Jackie was a loving wife especially when she would accompany Paul while he was deer hunting. Her gentle spirit will live on through those that loved and knew her best.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Molly Leggett, and her stepson, Douglas Hardy.

She is survived by her husband Paul Hardy, Jr. of the home, a daughter, Brett Duncan Leggett and her husband Al of Conway; a son, James Paul Duncan and his wife, Desiree of Wilson; a stepdaughter, Flora Beth Butts and her husband Marvin of Roanoke Rapids; and daughter-in-law, Donna Hardy; six granddaughters, Allyson Leggett, Haley Shaw and her husband Brett, Holly Duncan, Kayla Pittman and her husband JC, Paula Britton and her husband Alston and Addison Butts; three grandsons, Lee Leggett and his wife Bailey, Jacob Duncan and his wife Kris and Marvin Butts, Jr.; three great-granddaughters, Paisley Allen, Charlie Anne Britton, and Sadie Pittman; three great-grandsons, Jaxon Duncan, Braxton Gupton, and Colt Pittman; and two sisters, Gayle Oliver and Geri Felts.

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 9, 2023, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service ~ Letchworth Chapel in Scotland Neck.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, 2:00 pm at the Town of Conway Cemetery, Conway, with Rev. Paul Spradley, officiating.
