RICH SQUARE, NC – James Conner “Jimmy” Clark, age 64, of Pine Street, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

Jimmy was born on December 11, 1957 to Wayland Earl “Pete” Clark and Margaret Joyce Conner Clark in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He worked extremely hard in caring for his family. He was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, who affectionately call him PAPA. Jimmy was a true friend to many and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Along with his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a nephew, Cameron Conner Clark.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Julie, two daughters, Shannon Clark Hardin and husband David Heath Hardin, and Jamie Clark Hoggard and husband Aaron Justin “AJ” Hoggard both of Conway; two granddaughters, Malaina Clark Hoggard, and Everleigh Rain Hardin; a grandson, Dylan Jameson Hoggard, and a grandson on the way, Brady James Hardin; a brother, Stephen Andrew Clark of White Plains, VA; a “brother” Buddy Robbins; a “sister”, Barbara Collier Hasty and husband Dennis of Conway; two sisters-in-law, Betsy Collier Beatty of Boykins, VA, Betty Jo Gray and husband Milton of Maysville, NC, and Diane Parker Bone; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Wayne Collier and wife Diane of Conway; a niece, Kayleigh Clark of Littleton, NC; two aunts, Cora Clark of Nashville, NC, and Mary Agnes Swanson of Ayden, NC; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

I was surprised when learning of Jimmy’s passing. During the early years, I used to often babysit both Jimmy and Steve. They were good kids then and from other’s condolences, sounds to have carried into adulthood. Blessings to both Jimmy’s family as well as Steve’s

To Jimmy’s family,
I got to know Jimmy when we (Garysburg VFD) had calls and EMS was needed. He was such a caring, kind, compassionate and dedicated person. He could always find something to say that would make me laugh. He will truly be missed. Sending prayers to all of you and thank you for sharing him with Northampton County!

A good friend of mine Betty Jo Slozak who grew up down the street from my cousin Joyce and her husband Pete just called to let me know the sad news of Jimmy’s passing. I wish we had stayed in closer communication over the years. I remember Jimmy as a child and young man and am so pleased that his life was blessed with a close and loving family and a life full of meaningful service to others. I am the only one left of Agnes Lassiter Bandy’s children and I have no children. However my brothers Ed and John had six children, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. So love and condolences from all of your many cousins.
