Mrs. Janet Burden Cauthern, age 78 died at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville on Monday, May 7, 2012. She was a native of Hertford County. She was married to Will Roger Cauthern. Mrs. Cauthern worked as a bookkeeper for a number of years for the town of Roxobel. She was a devoted member of her church, Sandy Run Baptist Church, serving her church faithfully. She was a member of the choir and loved her church family dearly. Mrs. Cauthern was also a wonderful supporter of the community.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Will Roger Cauthern, her mother and father, Addie Brinkley Burden and Charlie Roosevelt Burden.
Survivors include her daughter, Julie Angela Rea of Jacksonville, FL, her sister, Peggy Outlaw and her husband John of Aulander, NC, two brothers, Roy C. Burden and his wife Alice of Richmond, VA and Gene L. Burden and his wife Donna of Warrensburg, MO., two grandchildren, Jason Rea and his wife Jenny, Christina Dawn Vinson and her husband Robert. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Alastair Gabriel Rea, Courtney Makala Morris, Brett Kaleb Outlaw and Bailey Kaitlynn Outlaw.
