AULANDER – Janie Baggett Brinkley, 80, of the 600 block of NC Hwy 561, West, died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Brinkley was born in Northampton County, a daughter of the late Walter and Nettie Blowe Baggett. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and the W.M.U. and was a homemaker.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Jack Elbert Brinkley; a son, Jackie R. Brinkley and wife, Anne of Ahoskie; her grandchildren, Josh P. Brinkley and his wife, Jessica of Ahoskie, and Sheri Brinkley Futrell and husband, Michael of Winton; and two great grandchildren, Steven Futrell and Michaela Futrell.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009, at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Pixler officiating. Burial will follow in the Brinkley Family Cemetery, Ahoskie. The family will receive friends at the home.
