Mrs. Jean Hall Corey, age 74 born July 11, 1935 died at the Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie on Friday, February 19, 2010 following complications of an aneurism that occurred on January 3, 2010.

She was born and raised in Aulander and moved to Woodland when she married Bob Corey in 1960. Well-known for her meticulous skills, she was a respected bookkeeper and worked in two areas that she loved-automobiles and farming. She also loved crafts, dolls, animals and babies. After retirement, she was blessed with a grandson and the time to spend with him-an invaluable gift to both. She was a devoted wife and mother and always gave more than she took to assure her family was well-taken care of.

Preceding her in death are her husband Bob W. Corey, her mother and father, Mary and Swanson Hall and her sister Mary Ann Franklin.

Survivors include two daughters; Kim Cory Sykes and her husband Dr. John Sykes of Wilmington, North Carolina, Cindy Walker and her husband Tom of Bumpass, Virginia, two sons; Christopher Baron Corey and his wife Meredyth of Woodland, North Carolina and Karl Lindbergh Corey and his wife Cathy of Margarettsville, North Caroina and one brother, John Vann Hall and his wife Linda of Sanford, North Carolina. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Christopher Aidan Corey, Justin Corey Bass and Allison Taylor Bass.

Kim and Chris,im so sorry to hear about your mom.she was a great friend to my parents and me as well..when i was born,my mom could not think up a middle name for me.thats when Jean came in with janson and it stuck.she will be missed,if i can help you in anyway,please let me know..
