FLETCHER, NORTH CAROLINA – Jeffery Lynn King, lovingly known as Jeff, passed away on October 14, 2023, at the age of 61. He was born on June 28, 1962, in Martin County, North Carolina, to the late Robert Lee King and Syble Jean Holliday King. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Robert Lee King, Jr., and twin brothers, Larry and Garry King.

In his professional life, Jeff worked as a dedicated machinist, honing his skills and leaving a mark in his field. Outside of work, Jeff had a deep passion for sports. He enjoyed officiating football and wrestling, and was very active in umpiring baseball, coaching youth football, and loved NASCAR. He was a huge Dale Earnhardt #3 fan. His love for sports extended beyond his own involvement, as he took great pleasure in watching his grandchildren play and excel in various athletic activities.

When Jeff wasn’t immersed in the world of sports, he found solace in nature. Hunting and fishing were among his favorite pastimes, allowing him to connect with the outdoors and unwind. Above all, his grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment he spent with them. During this difficult time, may we remember Jeff as a kind-hearted individual who cherished family, sports, and the great outdoors. May his soul rest in peace.

Jeff leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonne; his son, Seth Lynn (Katie) King of Mills River, NC, and his daughter, Hannah Paige King (Tyler) Fogle of Inman, SC. Jeff was also blessed with four adoring grandsons: Kason King, Sawyer King, Levi Fogle, and Oakley Fogle. His brother, Donald Wade (Jan) King of Hendersonville, NC, and numerous extended family members near and far will also feel the void left by his passing.

A service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Upward Christian Fellowship, 991 Upward Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 with Reverend Andy Craver officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Jeff loved his family. I was so glad he called and we talked recently for a long time. He was so down to earth and personable. Sometimes it doesn’t seem fair that he was taken so soon like his brother’s Robert, Larry and Gary. My sincere condolences to his family and many friends! Will miss you and your “stories” Luv your cuz Cindy💔🌹

So sorry to hear of this tragic news. I was a next door neighbor of Jeff when he was a kid. He was very special to me. A very sweet and loving guy. We lived next door on Fair Oaks road for many years. Lost contact when we moved. But always remember the family.
