Jenny Sue Allsbrook Preast, age 64, of Scotland Neck, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount.

Jenny Sue was born on November 13, 1959 to Robert (Buddy) and Shirley Allsbrook in Scotland Neck. She graduated from Scotland Neck High School and Louisburg College and was married to Frankie Preast on February 28, 1981.  Jenny Sue was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck.  She worked in banking for fifteen years and retired as a bookkeeper from the Halifax County Clerk of Court office following twenty-five years of dedicated service.  Jenny Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.   She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking for her family and friends.  Jenny Sue was full of love and would do anything for anyone.  She will be greatly missed.

Jenny Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Mason Allsbrook; her father, Robert Forrest Allsbrook, Sr.; and her brothers, Robert (Buck) Forrest Allsbrook, Jr. and Alton Ray Allsbrook.

She is survived by her husband Frankie of the home; her son, Bryant C. Preast and his wife Dara of Scotland Neck; her brother, George Allsbrook and wife Tini of Swansboro; her grandchildren, Gabby Lynn Preast and Forrest Robert Preast both of Scotland Neck; three nieces, Jennifer Allsbrook McLennan of Scotland Neck and Ginger Green and Kimberly Clark both of Virginia; two nephews, Grant Allsbrook and Michael Allsbrook both of North Carolina; and her special friends, Donna Hux and Nancy Deckard.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Letchworth Chapel in Scotland Neck.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Baptist Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Rev. Paul Spradley officiating.

When I met Jenny Sue. It was like we knew each other forever. That was the kind of person she was. We got up early to walk before we went to work , we cried, we laughed but most of all she she shared the love for her family and friends.

I grew up with Jenny Sue, she is the sweetest person that anyone could be around, I left Scotland Neck in 1976, but I have talked to her over the years, I am sorry to hear about her passing, we will keep the family in our prayers.

Jenny Sue Was one of the sweetest girls i’ve ever known. She would literally do anything for anybody. She was blessed with one of the biggest hearts in the world. Please keep her family in your prayers as I know that there’s a big hole or void in their like right now and always will be.
