Jimmy Ray Braddy

Jimmy Ray Braddy, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

Jimmy Ray was born in Hobgood, NC on March 16, 1940 to Frank Braddy and Louise Washington Braddy. He married JoAnn Sanderson on May 8, 1976 and they shared forty-three years of marriage. Jimmy Ray served in the NC and VA National Guards. He worked as a Maintenance Engineer for Holiday Inn. Jimmy Ray was a Trustee, Deacon, and a very active member of Dawson Baptist Church. He was a member of the Jr. Order of Scotland Neck Council #530. Jimmy Ray loved golf, baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, snow skiing, camping, traveling, especially the many trips to see his grandsons play baseball, and fishing. He shared his love of fishing with his grandsons and many family and friends over the years. Jimmy Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend that will be dearly missed.

Jimmy Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Louise Braddy; and his brother, Hilton Earl Braddy.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, JoAnn of the home, a son, Scott Andrew Braddy and his wife Jennifer of Clayton; a daughter, Julie Braddy Kelley and her husband Todd of Yorktown, VA; two grandsons, Christian Kelley of Chester, VA and Jordan Kelley of Yorktown, VA; two brothers, Clayton Braddy and his wife Sybil of Enfield and Gene Braddy and his wife Vicky of Enfield; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Dawson Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Sorie officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
