Jo Ann Moore

AHOSKIE, NC – Jo Ann Hoggard Moore, age 61, of Kitty Hawk, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Jo Ann was born on February 8, 1960 to Jim Hoggard and Hattie Smith Hoggard in Norfolk, VA. She was a dedicated nurse and spent her life taking care of others. She cherished her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She enjoyed shopping, antiques, playing bingo, crochet, boating, and most of all fishing. Jo Ann also enjoyed cooking, especially her famous potato salad. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Johnson.

Left to cherish Jo Ann’s memory is her daughter, Christy Dawn Tucker and husband John of Katy, TX; two sons, Charlie Moore, and Bryan Moore and wife Angela, both of Chesapeake, VA; sister, Paulette Towle and husband Glen of Elizabeth City, NC; brother, Curtis Hoggard and wife Kelly Chelf of Elizabeth City, NC; two grandsons, Bryan Moore, II, and Ryan Tucker; a granddaughter, Alyssa Tucker; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at New Temple Grove Ministries, 3972 South Military Hwy., Chesapeake, Virginia.
