HARRELLSVILLE, NC – Johnnie Joseph Holloman, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 30, 2023, in Hertford County, NC. He was born on November 7, 1964, in Hertford County, NC. Johnnie was 59 years old at the time of his passing.

Throughout his life, Johnnie had a fulfilling career as a Heavy Equipment Operator for NC DOT, Bobby Paul, and Commercial Ready Mix. He also took great pride in being the Owner/Operator of Holloman’s Auctions, Inc. His dedication to his work was evident, and he cherished the accomplishments he achieved.

Johnnie had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, especially deer, and running hunting dogs. He also enjoyed refinishing old furniture and tinkering with anything that caught his attention.

Johnnie was a charter member of the Mare Branch Hunt Club and a lifelong member of Christian Harbor Baptist Church. His faith and community were important to him, and he found solace and support in these affiliations.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his father, J. E. Holloman, his mother, Peggy Jo Holloman, and his granddaughter, Layla Grace Holloman. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his surviving family and friends. Johnnie is survived by his wife, Brenda Hawkins Holloman, whom he shared a beautiful life with. He is also survived by his two daughters, Kristen Leigh (Brandon “Bubba”) Barnett of Trenton, NC, and Maryjo Elizabeth Sadler of Harrellsville, NC, as well as his son, Aaron Mitchell (Brandee) Holloman of Harrellsville, NC.

Johnnie was a proud grandfather to four granddaughters, Kaleigh Buck of Trenton, and Kolbi Buck of Trenton, NC, Rylee Grace Holloman and Nova Holloman of Harrellsville, NC, Kolbi Buck of Trenton, NC, and four grandson, Caleb Buck, Cutler Buck and Brevyn Barnett of Trenton, NC, and Dalton Grayson Harrell of Harrellsville, NC.   Johnnie held a special place in his heart for his uncle, Wilson Myers Jr., and cousin, David Earl Myers.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie. Services to honor and remember Johnnie’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie. Following the service, Johnnie will be laid to rest in Harrellsville Cemetery.

Johnnie Joseph Holloman will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those he loved and touched throughout his life. May he rest in eternal peace.
