Mr. Johnnie Lawrence Blanton, age 79 died at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He was a native of Hertford County. Mr. Blanton loved to work; he worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He farmed for some time and painted for a number of years. Mr. Blanton worked for Coulbourn’s Furniture Company as a supervisor in Windsor for fifteen years. Following retirement he continued to be active working at various places.

Preceding him in death are his first wife, Dorothy Harrison Blanton, his mother and father, Marie White Blanton and Abraham Langton Blanton, two brothers; William and Michael Blanton and one grandchild, Chassity Britt.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Austin Blanton of the home; three daughters, Barbara B. Outland and her husband Freddie of Woodland, NC, Donna D. Britt and her husband Neil of Harrellsville, NC and Lisa B. Davis of Creeksville, NC; two sons, Johnnie L. Blanton, Jr. of Woodland, NC and Jeffrey L. Blanton and his wife Carol of Windsor, VA; one sister, Marie Evans and her husband Clinton of Murfreesboro, NC; one Brother, Charles Blanton and his wife Janet of Franklin, VA; six grandchildren, Vickie Soper, Brad Outland, Brittney Britt, Mckayla Davis, Justin and Brittney Campbell; two great grandchildren, Alexis and Ashlyn Soper.

So sorry for your lose. May you find comfort from your fond memories. The Bible gives us comfort when it assures us that soon all causes of suffering will end and mankind can enjoy life forever in perfect health. (Pslams 37:11,29; Revelation 21:3,4; John 17:3)
