AHOSKIE-Joseph Andrew Hejnas, 97, passed peacefully on February 7, 2020 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Helen Hejnas: sisters Jean McCue. Dorothy Polcer and Teresa Myers; brother Andrew Hejnas; wife Margaret (Peggy) Hejnas and daughter Helen Uzakewicz. Joseph leaves to cherish his memories, daughter Barbara Fitzhugh; granddaughters Lauren Wells (Delton) and Heather Fitzhugh-Bowers (Durrell); grandson Douglas Uzakewicz and five great grandchildren: Shyla Fitzhugh; Amelia Fitzhugh-Powell; Andrew Fitzhugh-Powell; Donovan Bowers and Amiracle Wells.
Jospeh was a proud WW2 Air Force veteran.
The family would like to thank Dr. Semaan Khoury, Dr. Rony Shammas and Vidant Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
There will be no service at Joseph’s request, but a private memorial will occur at a later date.

Even though I haven’t seen my great uncle in 20 years he was an angel just like his brother my pop pop.
