Joyce, Carlton and I were so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. He was our cousin and lived within a rocks throw from his house. We spent many hours in the vacant lot playing ball. Whatever time of year it was. Spring, baseball. Fall, football. We know he will be greatly missed.

I’m so sorry to hear about Joe’s passing!
I moved from V.A. to N.C. in 2001 to work at Blue Ox. He was one of the 1st co-workers to make me feel welcome.
Every time I met him in the hallway or break room, he was always smiling and had something nice to say. Soon, I would make it a point to stop by his office to say hey or good morning every day.
We would often talk about hunting and fishing a lot. I will never forget him telling me about his duck hunting days and breaking the ice in the swamps with his fist so he could walk in the winter.
Being right much younger than him, he would often give me encouraging words about the work I did for my job.
He was a good man and became a good friend. He will be missed very much.
I pray God will give his family comfort during this difficult time.

I was so sorry to hear about Joe’s passing. We went our separate lives after high school graduation, but I still though of my classmates often. When I thought of Joe, I also thought of out 7th grade class picture. We were lined up on the steps of Colerain High School and Joe and Thomas Harrell were put on the 1st row. They were not happy being on the front row, so they bowed their head, so all you saw was the top of their heads. May your memories of him help you through this time.. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
