Julian French Shaw age 53 passed away on May 30, 2018 at his residence in Dallas, TX.

He was born on February 17, 1965 to Julian and Rachel Shaw. Julian affectionally known as Bubba graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School. He continued his education at UNC Wilmington. Following UNC and moving to Texas, Julian earned his associates degree. He worked as a computer engineer for a number of years. He had a tremendous love for his family and his cats.

Julian is survived by his mother, Rachel Owens of Wilson and father Julian Shaw of Roanoke Rapids, sister, Geneva Best and her husband Kent of Wilson; step mother, Debbie Shaw of Roanoke Rapids; step father, Charles Owens of Wilson; step brother; Tim Cain and his wife Candie of Lynchburg, VA; step sister, Lisa Cain of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and special nieces and nephew, Elizabeth Best, Matthew Young, and Brenda Poythress. Julian is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service, Scotland Neck with graveside services following at the Hobgood Cemetery in Hobgood at 12:30 pm. Officiating will be the Rev. Dusty Sprouse.

Memorial contributions may be made directly to the Halifax County Public Health System Animal Rescue and Adoption Center, 54 Dog Pound Road, Halifax, NC 27839 or online by clicking here.

OMG I just found out he passed away I loved him dearly and will be missed, I have been looking for him and trying to get in contact with him and now I know why, RIP Jewels I will miss you

So sorry for your loss. Julian was my roommate at UNC-Wilmington. So many good memories and great food! Julian could cook the house down! He will be missed. My thought and prayers to his family.

My condolences to the Shaw family. I have known Julian for most of his time in Texas and have enjoyed his culinary and party hosting skills. Christmas time in Julian’s home was something not to miss. He will be missed.
