Julian “Jackie” Ervin Brittenham Sr., age 70, of Aulander, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Vidant Greenville Medical Center.

Julian was born on September 4, 1950 to Julian Abby and Lucy Elva Eure Brittenham in Hertford County, NC. Julian was a cement truck driver at CRMP for many years and was often referred to by his childhood nickname, “Jackie”. After he retired, he spent his days relaxing and spending time with his family. He was married to his soulmate, Joyce Ann, for fifty-three years and together, they built a life filled with love and dedication to each other. Julian was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed every minute he spent with his children and grandchildren. Julian will be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, Julian was preceded in death by his son, Julian Ervin Brittenham Jr.; his father-in-law, J.B Dunning and his mother-in-law, Margaret Walters Dunning.

Left to cherish Julian’s memory is his loving wife, Joyce Ann; two daughters, Lisa Ann Conner and husband Tim of Ahoskie, and Julie Marie Dye and husband Shane of Ahoskie; two grandsons, Michael Shane Dye and Matthew Thomas Dye; a granddaughter, Heather Nicole Dye; three sisters, Betty Smith and husband Lloyd “Shorty” of Severn, NC, Elva Jean Brittenham Barmer of Woodland, and Nancy Joanna Brittenham of Ahoskie; a brother-in-law, James “Benny” Dunning of Louisville, KY, as well as numerous other family and friends.

Per the families wishes, there will be no service at this time. Please continue to keep the Brittenham family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this difficult time.
