Kate H. Griffin
Cofield – Kate Hill Griffin, 89, of the 1700 block of NC Hwy 45 S., died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Guardian Care of Ahoskie.
Mrs. Griffin was born August 4, 1919, a daughter of the late, Oma J. and Kate H. Hill, in Hertford County, NC where she spent her life. Kate was a very talented musician. She was a member of Christian Harbor Baptist Church where she served as pianist for many years. She was the widow of Tillman L. Griffin, Jr.
A graveside celebration of life service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Harrellsville Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Mizelle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christian Harbor Baptist Church, P.O. Box 326, Harrellsville, NC, 27942, the Harrellsville Historical Association, P.O. Box 55, Harrellsville, NC, 27942, or a favorite charity.
Garrett-Jones Funeral Home is serving the Griffin family.
Aunt Kate was a very interesting lady. She loved books, music, quilting, her cat and her family. We will certainaly miss her and remember her stories, beautiful blue eyes and smile.
