DATELINE: AULANDER, NC
Kelly Lassiter Tibbitt, age 40, of Aulander, passed away on June 25, 2015.
A native of Bertie County, she was born on November 14, 1974 to Daniel and Sue Peele Lassiter in Windsor, NC. Kelly was a graduate of Bertie High School. She attended Connaritsa Baptist growing up, later becoming a member of Millennium Pentecostal Holiness Church. Kelly enjoyed listening to music, leisurely walks, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a love for children, volunteering at daycares and other activities involving children when she could. Kelly was a very loving person and will be missed dearly by all those that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Fannie Mae and Alton Peele and paternal grandfather, Webster Lassiter.
Left to cherish Kelly’s memory are her parents of Aulander, her daughter, Aslyn Tibbitt, which was her pride and joy and the apple of her eye,of Aulander; her brother, Dana Lassiter and his wife Greta of Winterville; paternal grandmother, Goldie Lassiter of Aulander, aunts; Sandra Peele of Aulander, Katy Rawls and her husband Stanley of Aulander, Jean Rhea and her husband Tony of Ahoskie, and Marion Dilday and her husband Robert of Powellsville; uncles; Joe Peele of Greenville, William “Bubba” Peele and his wife Carolyn of Aulander, and Wayne Lassiter and his wife Betty of Aulander. Also surviving are her two precious nephews; Gannon and Caden Lassiter of Winterville, along with a host of cousins.
A time to visit with the family will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Jimmy Smith and Rev. Taylor Latham, officiating, with burial to follow at Aulander Cemetery.
