AHOSKIE – Kimberly Wallace Cooper, age 46, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Hertford County to the late Benjamin Lee Wallace and Reba Hall Wallace. She was a bookkeeper at Eddie Harrell‚??s and former owner of Furniture Galleries, and a former member of the Ahoskie First Presbyterian Church, and was currently a member of Ahoskie United Methodist Church. Kim was very active in the local chapters of Relay for Life, especially Cheryl‚??s Girls Team and the Ahoskie Chamber of Commerce.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Anthony J. Cooper; daughter Kristina Leigh Cooper of the home; son Benjamin Turner Cooper also of the home; brothers David Wallace of Tunis, NC; Ricky Wallace and wife Sara of Murfreesboro, NC; parents-in-law John and Lula Brown; sisters-in-law Wanda Castellow, Anita Belch and Leslie Belch; brothers-in-law Stephen Coley, Jerry Castellow, Ray Belch and Wayne Belch; 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 4 great-nieces and 2 great-nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Cheryl Coley in 2006.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Ahoskie First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Kim was such a sweet and pleasant person to be around. Her daughter was in my Girl Scout troop for 8 years and Kim also helped out in any way she could. I never heard anything but kind words out of her mouth. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
We have all been touched and impacted by Kim’s gentle spirit and brave determination as she fought this dreaded disease. May you feel God’s arms wrapped tightly around you during this time, and his presence as you face each new day. Kim loved each of you dearly. Please know that friends are praying for you and want to help you in any way possible during this difficult time.
