PENDLETON, NC – Lillie Dail Mooring, age 82, of Stanley Barnes Road, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at her home.
Mrs. Mooring was born on February 27, 1940 to Elmer Jackson Dail and Lillian Tyson Dail in Wayne County, NC. Lillie was one of ten siblings. She married the love of her life, Billy Mooring and they had five children. Lillie spent her life taking care of her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her yard, tending to her flowers, or just taking in what nature has to offer. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and extended family members. Lillie was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Ray Morring, a son, Edward Earl Mooring, five brothers; Junior, Willis, Charlie Ray, Oscar, and Bobby Dail, and three sisters; Margaret Dawson, Joyce Carter, and Lewellyn McCloud.
Lillie is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” Mooring of Pendleton, and Julie Gray (Randy) of Newsomes, VA; two sons, Johnny Ray Mooring of Ahoskie, and Robert Wayne Mooring (Peggy) of Chocowinity, NC; daughter-in-law, Donna Mooring of Pendleton; eight granddaughters, Tessa Bryant, Cassie Bryant, Kelly Barnes (Tabb), Melissa Spires (Travis), Erica Mooring (Ricky), Lindsey Privott (Robert), Alyssa Smith, and Ashley Holloman (Kirk); three grandsons, Brandon Mooring (Erin), Wayne Bryant, and Phillip Bryant; sister, Linda Ragan of Virginia Beach, VA; her beloved fur baby, Lucky; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Severn Cemetery, Severn, NC, with Rev. John Porter officiating.
