AHOSKIE, NC – Lillian Klubenspies Whitmeyer, age 97, of Johnny Mitchell Road, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2022 at her home with her son by her side.

Mrs. Whitmeyer was born on April 14, 1925 to the late Louis Christopher and Julia Klubenspies in New Jersey. Lillian married the love of her life, Willard Whitmeyer and they made their home in Ahoskie. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her son, Eric. She spent most of her life taking care of her home and family. You always knew where you stood with Lillian as she was sure to tell you like it was. She was loved and cherished by her son, extended family, and friends, and will be deeply missed.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Willard.

Lillian is survived by her son, Eric Whitmeyer of Ahoskie, NC; and her brother, Louis Christopher (Lou) Klubenspies, Jr.  and wife Elaine of New Jersey. Also surviving are a niece and nephew, Julia and Louis, III of New Jersey.

A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Pastor Greg Hurdle officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at 1:00 PM until time for the service and burial will immediately follow the service at Highland Memorial Gardens.

Eric and Family your Mom loved her family first and foremost. Eric she said you are what keeps her going Spot was with me when we were in conversation. So sorry in your loss . Just wanted to share how much you truly meant to her..just beautiful and sweet.
