Mrs. Lillie Bryant Ginn age 86 of Virginia Beach died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 12, 2016.

She was born on December 7, 1929 to Jesse and Maggie Bryant in Woodland, NC. Lillie graduated from Woodland Olney High School in Woodland, NC.  She worked and retired as a production controller for the Naval Air Rework Facility of Norfolk, VA.  Lillie was also a lifelong member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Aulander, NC.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Joyner Bryant, father, Jesse Ray Bryant, son, Gary Lane Knowles, sister, Amerette Bolton and brother, Everett Bryant.

Lillie is survived by her husband Elmer S. Ginn of the home, stepdaughter, Lynette G. Holt; stepson, Larry Ginn and his wife Tammy of Damascus, VA; sister-in-law, Dorice Bryant of Woodland, NC; step grandson, Jesse Taylor Ginn and his wife Gabriella of Corapeake, NC; step granddaughter, Heather Lauren Ginn of Portsmouth, VA; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Knowles of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are nephews, Jeff Bolton of Wendell, NC, William and Dan Bryant of Woodland, NC, a niece, Beth Phillips of Woodland, NC, three great nieces and several cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Rich Square, NC with the Rev. Ken Bunch officiating. The interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service one hour prior to the service on Monday morning.

We enjoyed visits with the Ginn’s. Often we went out to eat. It was fun to see such a petite lady enjoy a buffet lunch. Their love for each other and for Jesus is a great example to us.
