Lina Bell Dunlow Jernigan

Lina Bell Dunlow Jernigan, age 80, died Friday, August 16, 2013, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC.

Mrs. Jernigan was born in Bertie County on October 11, 1932, a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Settle Leary Dunlow. She was a member of Askewville Assembly of God Church and was a homemaker. Lina was an unassuming person and was totally devoted to her family.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Betty Castelloe and husband, Jim of Windsor, NC; her brother, Jake Dunlow of Windsor, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mrs. Jernigan was predeceased by her husband, Vernon Lee Jernigan, her sisters, Vivian, Casteen, May and Dathel and her brothers, Grady and Robert, Jr.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, August 19, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in the Jernigan Family Cemetery, Exter Rd., Colerain, by the Rev. R. O. Denton, Jr. The family will receive friends at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service , Ahoskie, from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. on Monday, prior to services.
