AULANDER, NC – Linda Louise Lassiter Cox, age 79, passed away on January 2, 2018 at the Accordius Health at Creekside Care of Ahoskie, NC.
Mrs. Cox was born on January 19, 1938 to Marvin and Ruby Cooke Lassiter in Hertford County, NC. Louise has dedicated her life to taking care of her family that she loved dearly. She was always there for the family member or friend in need. Louise enjoyed yard work, always having beautiful flowers and lawn. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt that will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Morgan, and brothers, William, Beecher, and Kenneth Lassiter.
Louise is survived by, three sons, Warren Cox, Jr. and wife Susan of Aulander, NC, William Lassiter of Murfreesboro, NC, and Michael Lassiter and wife Crystal of Ahoskie, NC; two granddaughters, Melissa Tate and husband Scott of Manteo, NC, and Kelly Cox of Blowing Rock, NC; two grandsons, Payton and Preston Lassiter; brother, Carroll Lassiter of Ahoskie, NC; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 5, 2018, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at her home.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 11:00 am at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Taylor Latham, officiating. Burial will follow at Aulander Cemetery.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear Louise. I loved her dearly She was such a kind,caring and loving person. I am grateful that she was a part of my life for a few years. It was truly a pleasure to have known her. She had a heart of gold.
