Linda Rhodes Anderson, age 75, of Scotland Neck, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro.

Linda was born on February 2, 1947 to Maude and Pauline Rhodes in  Georgia. She was married to Walter Anderson for thirty-five years and was a member of Dawson Baptist Church. Linda loved her friends and family and enjoyed reading and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her father, Maude Rhodes; her mother, Pauline Bissette Rhodes; her sisters, Joan Joynes and Patricia Bray; and her brother, Jimmy Rhodes.

Linda is survived by her husband, Walter Wilson Anderson, Jr., her daughters, Lisa Jennell DeBow and husband Eddie of Rocky Mount, Deanna Michelle Whitley of Nashville, and Karen Bunn and husband Bill of Tarboro, NC; her grandsons, Michael Farmer and Jay Farmer of Richmond, VA, Dustin Joyner and wife Tiffany of Rocky Mount, Dillon Whitley of Wilmington, and Dustin DeBow of Rocky Mount; her granddaughters, Nicole Joyner and husband Harley of Rocky Mount, Brook Whitley of Nashville, and Caroline Faithful Mills and husband Jon of Tarboro; her great-granddaughters, Kayden Hawks of Rocky Mount, Matti Purdue of Rocky Mount, Raylee Joyner of Rocky Mount, and Zahra Robinson of Nashville; her great-grandsons, Chandler Hawks of Rocky Mount, Raylan Robinson of Nashville, and Camden Mills of Tarboro; and her sisters, Sue Phillips of Farmville, Kathy Boykins of Sharpsburg, Gail Parrish of Ormond Beach, FL, and Jackie Morgan of Sharpsburg.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Letchworth-Sykes Funeral Service in Scotland Neck. A celebration of life graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Rev. Ricky Sorie officiating.

Linda was a dear friend to me since we first came to Dawson almost 15 years ago. She took me in right away and became best of friends. We so enjoyed our time at Twin Lakes Camp Grounds and many meals together. She was a friend I could always count on. I already miss her sweet smile.
