Cofield, NC – Mr. Linwood Vance Bazemore age 89, of Cofield, NC died on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 surrounded by his family at the Accordius Creekside Nursing Home in Ahoskie, NC.
He was born in Hertford County on March 20, 1928 to the late Vance and Celia Bazemore. Mr. Bazemore served in the US Army during the Korean War. Linwood was married to his first wife, Martha Lassiter Bazemore in 1949 until her death in 1966. He was married to Rose Woodard Bazemore in 1971 until her death in 2009. Linwood was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ahoskie, NC. Mr. Bazemore worked as an inspector with the Ford Motor Company until retiring in 1999. He loved the outdoors, westerns, gardening and his dog Bo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Celia Harrell Bazemore, father, Zebulon Vance Bazemore, first wife, Martha Lassiter Bazemore and second wife, Rose Woodard Bazemore, sister, Agnes Landing and grandson, Michael Fedock.
Linwood is survived by his three daughters, Lynn B. Lineberger of Norfolk, VA, Jewel D. Fedock and her husband Frank of Cofield, NC, Beth Bazemore of Hampton, VA, a son, Stewart Bazemore of Norfolk, VA, a stepson, Clayton Dilday and his wife Suzanne of Greensboro, NC; two granddaughters, Jessica and Rachel Dilday, five grandsons, William and Josef Hanning, Christopher, Clay, and Brayden Dilday, a granddaughter-in-law, Crystal, three great granddaughters, Elsa and Cate Hanning, Abby Dilday, and three great grandsons, Harry Hanning, Scott and Ryan Fedock.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Bazemore Family Cemetery in Cofield, NC, with Dr. Jeff Crabtree officiating. The family will receive friends at the home following the graveside.

Linwood was always a kind presence and I will miss him. The graveside service was beautiful yesterday.
