CONWAY, NC – Lois Gail Slongo Haggerty, a devoted homemaker and loving mother, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2023, in Ahoskie, North Carolina. She was born on March 10, 1950, in New York. At the time of her passing, Lois was 73 years old.

Lois dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family. Her boundless love and care extended not only to her children but also to her grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly. She found immense joy in reading, planting flowers, and the simple pleasures of being a homemaker. Her creativity shone through every season as she delighted in decorating her home for holidays, making them extra special for her loved ones.

Lois is survived by her two sons, Keith Edward (Candice) Haggerty of Gatesville, NC, and Robert James Haggerty, III of La Crosse, VA. Her daughter, Melissa Tremain of Colliersville, NY, will forever hold Lois’s love close to her heart.

A source of immense pride and joy for Lois were her grandchildren. She leaves behind five granddaughters: Asia Haggerty, Jasmine Haggerty, Emerie Haggerty, Alannah Haggerty, and Oliviamay Eileen Haggerty. Additionally, she is survived by three grandsons: Tyler (Brandi) Tremain, Robert James “Bobby” Haggerty, IV, and Nathan Kendall Haggerty. Lois’s daughter-in-law, Anne Haggerty of Raleigh, and her two great grandsons, Carter Tremain and Oaklen Tremain, also mourn her loss.

Lois will be fondly remembered for her kind and nurturing spirit by her special friends, Bruce and Brenda, who were blessed to have her in their lives. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert James Haggerty, Jr., her father, Ernest Slongo, and her mother, Harriet Bellwood Slongo.

My sweet Aunt Lois, you don’t have to hurt anymore. Your time here is done good servant. Go rest high on that mountain and I’ll see you when my time here is through. I love you. Ken, Tyanna, Kenyan, and Ezra love and miss you. We’ll see you soon. ?
