Lois Viola Randal Bertram, 91, formerly of Skidmore and Beeville, Texas, departed this earth and went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 17, 2010, in Roxobel, North Carolina.
Lois was born October 15, 1918, in Post, Garza County, Texas, the first of six children born to Cicero Felton Randal and Ettie Ellen Alexander Randal.
Lois attended school in Skidmore, Texas, graduating in 1936. She attended Baylor College for Women (now Mary Hardin Baylor) in Belton, Texas. During the summer after the completion of her freshman year, she met Herman Edward Bertram in Skidmore, Texas and Lois and Eddie were married on September 6, 1938 in Skidmore, Texas. Four children were born of this marriage, Roberta Lois and James Edward in Skidmore, Texas, and Richard Allen and Betty Louise in Beeville, Texas.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, on December 7, 2005; her parents and her three brothers, Cicero Ottie Randal, Cecil J. Randal, Felton Edward Randal, and one grandson, Christopher Edward Bertram.
During her residency in Beeville, Lois was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was active with the ladies quilting circle, making quilts for those in need. She also enjoyed working with the Beeville genealogical chapter. She was re-baptized at Sandy Run Baptist Church in Roxobel, NC, on Easter morning 2009, by Pastor Dave Rimel. She was 90 years old at the time. She was a member of the WMU of Sandy Run Baptist Church
Survivors include her daughter Roberta Lois and husband Joe Wise of Roxobel, North Carolina; her son James Edward Bertram and wife Glenda Catherine of Lubbock, Texas; her son Richard Allen Bertram and wife, Kathryn of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and her daughter, Betty Louise and husband Scott Campbell of Bevil Oaks, Texas; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, one adopted great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
