Mrs. Lucille Mizelle Perry, age 88, died Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Perry was born in Hertford County on July 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Ella Wilder and Henry Marcus Mizelle. She was a member of Colerain Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir for many years. She was retired as a sales clerk for Belk and worked with the Bertie County Board of Elections. Lucille was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking, sewing, and crafts, especially ceramics.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Jerry Perry and wife, Georgia of Elizabeth, City, NC; Joey Perry and wife, Amy of Smithfield, VA; her sister, Wilma Sirine of Virginia Beach, VA ; her grandchildren, Jason Perry and wife, Casey, Wendy Harrell and husband, Daniel, Nicholas Perry, Lauren Perry, Christin Perry, Thomas Perry and Elizabeth Perry; and her great grandchildren, Drew and Madison Harrell and Jonathan and Dwight Perry. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Bessie M. Perry of Elizabeth City, NC. Besides her parents, Mrs. Perry was predeceased by her husband, George Thomas Perry, Sr,; her son, George Thomas Perry Jr.; and several siblings.

So sorry to hear about Aunt Lucille may she rest in heaven
I love your mom. She was a sweet lady. I love to hear her sing. She was sing Christmas carols with me when she got her hair done the week before. Sorry for lost. She is sing in heaven now.

Our hearts are very saden for Lucille’s passing. She was a beautiful and wonderful lady. We had some good times being in the choir together. I remember Thomas and Tommy very well. Our prayers, hearts and thoughts will be with all of you.

Mrs. Perry was the BEST mother-in-law a girl could ever ask for! She loved me as a daughter. She continuously encourage me to be the best teacher, mother, and wife to her baby boy, Jerry. She loved Christin, Thomas, and Elizabeth beyond measures. I will miss her dearly, but I know she is laughing and singing in Heaven with God and Mr. Perry. God has received an awesome Angel! Love you Mrs. Perry!!!
