I have such fond memories of many family reunions at Uncle Luthers. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Carolyn, Nell & Joan so sorry to hear of your Father passing. I know it will be a big void in each of your lives. Let me know if anything I or our church can do. Tommy
Vivid memories of the Whitley home where we visited for the Easter egg hunts, including Luther who I remember as being very tall and quiet. I have included a couple of photographs I have from a visit a few years past. My sincerest condolences.
I am going to miss Mr. Whitley. He was a big part of growing up in the Harrellsville area. He was a very kind man. We have lost a faithful friend.
I remember Easters more than almost anything about going to Harrellsville when I was little. They were wonderful spent at the Whitley home. I grew up in Raleigh and I knew Uncle Luther as my grandmother’s younger brother (Idonia). I always thought his wife, Annie Ruth was very shy, but they both were very kind to us. Good memories!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I am sorry to hear of Luther’s passing, though I know he is reuniting with his brothers and sisters in a joyous celebration in heaven. I know you will miss your father/grandfather/uncle but he is in a happy and peaceful place. You are all in my heart and prayers. Love, his niece, Betty (Jean) Taylor Matthews
We are thinking of you all with love, and holding you

Wish we all could be there for you in your time of need. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless You.
