Macie Ann Farley, age 80, of S. Pembroke Ave., died Sunday, December 8, 2013, in Brian Center of Windsor, NC. Miss Farley was born in Manhattan, KS on October 19, 1933, a daughter of the late Hermon and Gainor Kessler Farley. Macie was retired as a secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ahoskie and the Ahoskie Kiwanis Club.

Being predeceased by her extended family member Kent Hoggard, she is survived by Steve Hoggard and wife, Susan, and their children, Sara, Stephen and Shelby of Ahoskie, NC. Kent’s children, Amy Ormond and husband, Greg; their children Haley, Kaitlynn and Trey Ormond, Landon Hoggard and wife, Shannon; their children Taylor and Lindsay Hoggard; and She is also survived by special friends, Margaret Winn and Virginia Chitty of Ahoskie, NC.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie, with the Rev. Daniel Glaze officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, P.O. Box 649, Ahoskie, NC, 27910.

My heartfelt sympathy to all of Macie’s friends and family. I sold Macie her house and we continued to be friends over the years ever since. She was a dear, dear lady. Carolyn Martin

Steve, I have just learned about Macie. I have loved her from the first day I met her and when I sold her her home on Pembroke Ave. I am so sorry as she was such a sweet lady.
