AHOSKIE, NC – Maggie Mulder Godwin, age 81, of Ahoskie, passed away on November 23, 2014 at the Creekside Care & Rehab of Ahoskie, NC
Mrs. Godwin was born In Northampton County on November 19, 1933, a daughter of the late Jack and Maggie (Smith) Mulder. Maggie worked as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business and later her son. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ahoskie.
Maggie is survived by her daughter, Jackie Godwin of Ahoskie, NC; two sons, Buddy Godwin and wife, JoAnn of Winton, NC, and John Godwin of Elizabeth City, NC; two sisters, Elizabeth Swain and husband, L. B. of Merry Hill, NC, and Ann King and husband, Tommy of Roanoke Rapids, NC; two granddaughters, Samantha Godwin, and Candice Megan Godwin; two grandsons, Corbett Allen Godwin, and John Patrick Godwin; and a great granddaughter, Ava Harris.
Besides her parents, Maggie was predeceased by her husband, Willie Corbett Godwin, and several siblings.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home.
A graveside celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at 2:00 pm at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Richard Goodwin, officiating.
