COLERAIN, NC – Margaret Jones Davidson, age 86, of Meadow Road, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the ECU Health Medical Center.
Mrs. Davidson was born on March 22, 1936 to Alton Jones and Callie Ellis Jones in Nansemond County, Virginia. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. She cherished her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Margaret loved fishing and always looked forward to being outside working with her flowers. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bobby Caulder, Jr., a sister, Evelyn Baines, and a brother, Alton “Buddy” Jones.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Herman “Shampoo”, two daughters, Sandra Davidson Caulder of Colerain, and Darlene D. Dunlow and husband Skip of Askewsville; granddaughter, Courtney D. Lane and husband Ryan of Merry Hill; grandson, Austin Lee Dunlow and wife Leanna H. of Askewsville; and great-grandson, Wyatt Owen Lane.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Mars Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Al Hughson officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC. The family will receive friends at the house at any time.

I HAVE LIVED ABOUT 2 MILES FROM MARGARET FOR OVER 21 YEARS. SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A VERY CHRISTAIN PERSON TO ME & EVERYONE ELSE. THE GOOD LORD HAS ANOTHER GREAT ANGEL NOW. SHE WILL SURELY BE MISSED.
I have known Mrs Margaret and her family since I was a little girl living in the Trap community. She will be missed but remembered as a special lady and friend to many. Prayers that God holds your family closely in his love, bringing you comfort during this time of loss.
