SCOTLAND NECK – Margaret Morgan Stallings, age 88, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at her home in Chapel Hill.

Margaret was born on February 27, 1936 to Milton and Sarah Craft Morgan in Halifax County, NC. She graduated from Oak City High School and married Edwin Ross Stallings, and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. Margaret worked for the Halifax County Hosiery Mill for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and making baby blankets, and loved reading and bird watching. Margaret also enjoyed the occasional trip to Atlantic City, but her greatest love was spending time with her family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Milton Morgan; her mother, Sarah Craft Morgan; and her beloved husband, Edwin Ross Stallings.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracy S. Wynn and husband Stacy of Chapel Hill; her son, David Stallings and wife Theresa of Middlesex; her brother, Wilbert Morgan of Texarkana, TX; her granddaughters, Nikki Honeycutt and husband Anthony, Jessica Howell and fiancé Jeff Devine, Mandy Stallings, and Tracy Fleming; her grandsons, Ernie Coley, Greg Coley, and Matt Coley; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Garrett Sykes Funeral Service – Letchworth Chapel in Scotland Neck. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Rev. Fredrick Mangeni officiating.
