Marianne McDonald Williams, age 83, of Enfield, passed away on January 17, 2014 at the Valley Nursing Center of Taylorsville, NC
She was born on December 6, 1930 to Floyd and Catherine McDonald in Battleboro, NC. She graduated from Whitakers High School, in Whitakers, NC and then attended and graduated from the East Carolina School of Cosmetology of Greenville, NC. She moved to Enfield in the early 1950’s. Mrs. Williams owned and operated Marianne’s Beauty Nook for some forty years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Price McDonald, and her father, Floyd Alexander McDonald.
Marianne is survived by her five sons – Philip (Judith) Williams of Loganville, GA, Leslie Brent Williams of Rocky Mount, NC, Timothy Stewart Williams of Rocky Mount, NC, Gary (Sherri) Williams of Nashville, NC, Tracy Alan Williams of Smyrna, GA; four granddaughters – Brittany Williams of Greenville, NC, Taylor Williams of Blounts Creek, NC, Logan Williams of Nashville, NC, Marielle Williams of Loganville, GA; two grandsons – Colby Williams of Nashville, NC, Zachary Williams of Rocky Mount, NC; great-grandson – Brayden Windley of Blounts Creek, NC; .


I was so saddened to learn of Aunt Marianne’s death. She was a very special person that was loved by everyone. My prayers are with all of the family, especially after the recent loss of Uncle Russell.

Fellas, your mom was a great lady and a beautiful soul. She always had that bright smile and every time I saw her I got a great big hug and a kiss on the cheek:):) I will always remember her. My thoughts and prayers are with yall!!!!
So sorry that you have lost both parents so close together. Your mother was as kind as she was pretty: beautiful inside & out. We will all miss her. I pray for God’s healing touch to envelop your entire family.
My heart goes out to you all in the death of your mother. I remember her being such a pretty and sweet lady. I know this is especially hard since you just lost your daddy also. Time will help you heal and remembering all those special times with them will give you strength. My prayers go out to you all.
