Ann lived in Lexington, N.C. until she was in the 7th grade. Her parents then moved Ann and her two sisters to reside in Harrellsville, N.C. Ann graduated from Harrellsville High School. She married the love of her life, Edward Madison “Jimmie” Mitchell, on Dec. 16, 1962 and moved to Lewiston, N.C. Ann and Jimmie had a son, Jimmy Mitchell, and a daughter, Angie Mitchell Jilcott. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to many.

She was a devoted member of Harrellsville Methodist Church. She loved the Lord so much that she rededicated her life to Christ in November of 2023. Ann was a devoted homemaker who took great pride in keeping an immaculate home. She enjoyed working in the garden and canning her harvest. Ann loved her Belk shopping trips and watching her favorite soap opera Young and the Restless. As Ann got older, her favorite pastime was coloring in adult coloring books. She worked diligently on her artwork completing 133 coloring books through the years. Even though Ann had many hobbies, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and grand fur babies. She cherished her weekend beach trips with her daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. Ann will be greatly missed by family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jimmie Mitchell, and her brother-in-laws Floyd Odvil Russell, Larry Mitchell, and Pat Henry.

Sadness fills our hearts for Miss Ann’s family. She definitely had the love and support of her daughter Angie, her son in law Jimi and granddaughters Haven and Haley.. She showed me her book she was working on at the beach. Roger and I enjoyed a visit and dinner with her beautiful family at the beach last year. I was so emptessed by seeing how they always accomendated for Angie’s mom on trips to the beach .
Angie, Jimi and girls will certainly miss a big part of their family. I truly praise Jimi , a son in law who had a great love and respect for his mother in law . Always happy to share in caring for Miss Ann . Always putting his family first. Rest in peace Miss Ann . You will be greatly missed! ✝️?♥️
