JACKSON, NC – Mary Patricia Trail, born on August 14, 1948, in Wayne County, NC, passed away on July 28, 2023, at Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, NC. She was 74 years old at the time of her passing.

Mary dedicated a significant portion of her life to serving others through her work as the Activities Director for Woodards Care in Goldsboro, NC. Her compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of those under her care made her an invaluable member of the community.

Mary’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family and friends, including her two sons, Roger (Emina) Cox Jr. of Jackson, NC, and Joseph Eric (Karla) Cox of Jackson, NC. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Hunter Cox, Zeta Cox, and Terra Cox. Mary is survived by her sister, Joyce Crawford of Kissimmee, FL, and her brother, Vincent (Linda) Carter of Mt. Olive, NC.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Wyatt Henry Carter, and her mother, Margaret Smith Carter. Their loss undoubtedly left a void in her life, but their love and guidance will forever remain in her heart.

In this time of grief, the family has decided not to hold any services to commemorate Mary’s life. Instead, they will honor her memory privately, remembering the joy and love she brought into their lives.

Mary Patricia Trail will be remembered as a compassionate individual who selflessly dedicated herself to improving the lives of others. Her legacy will live on through the cherished memories she leaves behind with her loved ones. May she rest in eternal peace.

Mary was a very nice lady who I loved to talk to when I was working at Northampton Nursing (Hampton Woods) as one of her nurses. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace.
