LASKER, NC – Maxine McIntyre Greer, age 89, formerly of Ahoskie, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Greer was born on May 9, 1931, a daughter to W. H. McIntyre and Lizzie Campbell McIntyre in Hazard, KY. Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She cherished her family and dedicated her life to taking care of them. Maxine enjoyed the outdoors, from camping trips with her children when they were younger, to fishing every chance she got. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, quilting, and baking. She was devoted to her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Greer, just two short months prior, a son, Gregory Greer, and her nine siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Jeffrey Greer and wife Andrea of Lasker, Jimmie Randall Greer of Morehead City, NC, and Daniel Lee Greer and wife Tina of Estelline, SD; a daughter, Marlene Jarvis of Oak Hill, WV; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Greer of Roanoke Rapids, NC; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date when all the family is healthy enough to attend. Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service website (www.garrettsykefs.com) will be updated as to time and place of service.
