AHOSKIE, NC – Melisa Ann Morris, age 47, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at her home after an extended illness. She was born on October 1, 1975 to Rufus Earl Morris and Lorie Ann Baker Cordrey in Ahoskie, NC. Melisa worked for many years at Perdue and then Trilleum Health Resources.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorie Ann Baker Cordrey, her maternal grandparents, John Thomas Baker, Ora Lee Pridgen Britt (Robert “Buddy” Britt),and paternal grandparents, Ernest Morris and Mary Harrell Morris.
Left to cherish Melisa’s memory, is her father, Rufus Earl Morris (Katherine Long Morris) of Ahoskie, her brother Kevin Lee Morris (Kimberly) of Milwaukee, her sister Brittany Nicole Cordrey MacLaren of Georgia, and stepbrother, Jeffrey Futrell (Ginger) of Eure. Also left to cherish her memory are nieces and nephews; Kennedy LeeAnn Morris, Alston Morris, Hayden and Braxton Cordrey, Ricky and Grayson MacLaren, and Keily and Kendall Futrell.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11 AM at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC. The family will receive friends at the home of her father, Rufus.

There are no words to describe how sorry we are. Melisa beautiful personality will live on in our hearts. I was so lucky to had worked with her and got to know her at Perdue in Accounting Office. Sending prayers to the family during this tough time.
