Thank you to Mrs. Peele for being a wonderful neighbor and friend for over 25 years. Thank you for sharing Mr. Lockwood and Mr. Abner with us. A special thank you for taking our daughter Abby under you wing and watching her grow. Now a married mother of a precious little boy, she has fond memories of our good neighbors- Mr. and Mrs. Peele. Thank you for sharing Mr. Abner. We especially enjoyed his early morning walks in his green robe and our conversations about the early days of NASA. To you, Mrs. Peele, you were the “bedrock” of our neighborhood. I will miss our conversations about the history of Ahoskie and our talks of how life was as you yourself lived it. You were always very kind to me and my family- and I thank you. To your family, our most heartfelt condolences. Farewell Mrs. Peele- you will be truly missed! I will go to my door- as I have done every Christmas for over 25 years- looking for my block of Christmas cheese from Mrs. Mildred Peele.
