MILTON T. ROBERTSON

COLERAIN – Milton Truet Robertson, 72, of the 400 block of Morris Ford Road, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Robertson was born in Bertie County, a son of the late William Julian Robertson, Sr. and Sadie Morris Robertson. He was an active member and deacon of Mars Hill Baptist Church and a former member of the North Carolina National Guard.

Milton was a graduate of Mars Hill High School and attended North Carolina State University. He was an agricultural leader in the state, being owner and president of Robertson Equipment Company, and co-owner and president since 1960 of Robertson Brothers Farms.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Charlotte White Robertson; his sons, Milton Truet Robertson, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Ahoskie, NC, Gregory Robertson and wife, Rosemary of Colerain, NC; his grandchildren, Milton Truet ‘Trace’ Robertson, Hayley Rivera, Holly Robertson, and Samuel Robertson. He is also survived by his sisters, Florence Reid of Ahoskie, NC, and Sarah Watts of Cary, NC; and two brothers, William Julian Robertson, Jr. of Ahoskie, NC, and Alton Robertson of Colerain, NC.

A celebration service of Mr. Robertson’s life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Mars Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Burke Holland and Rev. Billy Presley officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Margaret Davidson, 1401 Meadow Road, Colerain, NC, 27924, or to Univeristy Health Systems Hospice Care, P.O. Box 272, Ahoskie, NC, 27910. Friends are invited to visit with the family at their home, 439 Morris Ford Road, Colerain.

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to Mr. Robertson’s caregivers, Kathy, Mechia, and Betty, and University Health Systems Hospice.

Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, is serving the Robertson family.

We found out tonight that Milton had passed. Our deepest sympathy is extended to all of the family. Milton was a good friend and will be greatly
