AULANDER, NC – Nancy Robertson Peede, age 90, of Main Street, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, March 4, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Peede was born on February 6, 1932 to Raymond Amlick Robertson and Rosa Gray Holliday Robertson in Williamston, NC. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a Godly woman, always putting her Lord first. Nancy was saved at an early age and God lead her through life’s ups and downs. She was a member of Aulander Baptist Church and loved the people of the church that truly cared for her. She could light up the room with her infectious smile. Nancy spent her life as a beautician making others beautiful, teaching that trade to several of her children and grandchildren. She taught cosmetology at Bertie High School retiring in 1994 and has owned two salons over the years. Nancy was always a hard worker and instilled that into the minds of her family. She enjoyed working in her yard, gathering for Thanksgiving, and especially loved having the family gather for Christmas. She was the matriarch of the family and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin McCoy Peede, a son, Franklin McCoy Peede, Jr., a daughter, Phyllis Peede Early, a sister, Gloria Spruill, and a brother, Raymond Robertson, Jr.

I don’t remember her exact words, I just remember how she made me feel. Her intentions were to make me a better person through her God given talent-cosmetology.
