Seems like I’ve loved Nell since I first knew her. I was 13 and went to work at White’s Dime Store in Ahoskie. I wasn’t old enough to get a worker’s permit. The secretary to the mgr. kept me under the radar til I turned 14 and legal. Nell took me under her wing. I was happiest behind that lunch counter with Nell. In the last few years, I have been so blessed to be able to connect with Nell again and meet her sweet baby doll. Now, she is holding her sweetest babydoll, Bailey. Thanks for the memories, dear friend. Prayers for you, Jeanette, Shelby Jean and Billie.

The Wallace sisters left behind quite a legacy. I have sweet memories of growing up, visiting with Aunt Nell and Uncle Billy, playing with my Heath cousins. There was always plenty of good food involved. Aunt Nell was always very kind and loving to me. Loving thoughts are with you as you lay Aunt Nell to rest.

As the family will remember,we were neighbors on North Street in Ahoskie many years ago. Although we lost touch over the years, the memories of that neighborhood and growing up together haven’t faded. It was a pleasure knowing both your mother and father. Please accept my sympathies – I’ll be praying in the days ahead that the God of all peace will comfort all of you in the days ahead.
