Patricia Phelps Thomas

AULANDER, NC – Patricia Phelps Thomas, age 44, of Carroll Street, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC after a brief illness.

Patricia was born on May 2, 1978 to Walter Keith and Victoria Huckabee Phelps in Killeen, TX. Patricia was a loving daughter, mother, and sister. She cherished her family especially her children and even some that weren’t even blood. She was very proud of being a registered nurse and loved being able to take care of patients as long as her health permitted. Patricia enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, gardening, spending time with her friends, trips to the beach, and her fur babies. She was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, George Huckabee, paternal grandfather, Robert Phelps, and a maternal grandmother, Shirley Thomas.

Patricia is survived by her husband Wes, her daughter, Miranda Paige and fiancé Josh Spence, and her son, Joshua Tyler Thomas, both of Aulander; three brothers, Tony Huckabee and wife Alessia, Tommy Huckabee, both of Aulander, and Robby Phelps and wife Wendy of Lewisburg, KY; and a maternal grandmother, Patricia Lohmeyer and husband Bill of Grand Haven, MI; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 4:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Al Hughson officiating.
