AULANDER, NC – Peggy Phelps Todd, age 80, of Main Street, passed away on Thursday morning, September 16, 2021 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.
Mrs. Todd was born on July 22, 1941 to Howard Phelps and Elizabeth Phelps in Windsor, NC. Peggy was a member of Aulander Baptist Church. She has been a devoted housewife to her husband Hoyt of 59 years. She enjoyed playing bridge as long as her health permitted. Peggy was a loving wife, sister, and friend and will be deeply missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Howard Phelps. Left to cherish Peggy’s memory is her beloved husband, Hoyt Todd and her very fine cat, Tinker.
The family will receive friends from at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel, Aulander, NC on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 1 pm until 1:45 pm, with a celebration of life service to follow at 2 pm in the Chapel of Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Aulander, NC, with Rev. Jimmy Blythe officiating. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, Windsor, NC.

Hoyt, Ann and I were saddened to learn about Peggy and we send along our condolances and prayers. She was such a kind and loving person that was always glad to see you. We never has a lot of interactions over the years but we will always cherish those times we did. Our prayers and thoughts are with you as you go forward.
We are so sorry to hear of Peggy’s passing. Peggy was a wonderful lady and a dear friend to Mary Ann & I. She suffered so long. But her suffering is no more. Hoyt, you have endured much in caring for her all these years. Your sacrifices for her in the eyes of your friends and neighbors and more importantly, our loving God have not been overlooked.
