AHOSKIE, NC – Philip Nils Sisler, age 64, Forest Drive Road, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at his home while enjoying one of his favorite pastimes, mowing his lawn.

Philip was born on October 5, 1958 to the late John J. Sisler and Phyllis C. Hill Sisler in Canton, Ohio. He was a devoted husband for 42 years, a loving father, and an extremely proud “PAPA” of his grandchildren. He was with Perdue for over twenty-five years and was proud to be the Senior Mill Manager, where he cared very much for the poultry business and was always concerned for safety at the mills that he managed. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed cars, and other than spending time with his family he loved to be outdoors tending to his yard, which was always in pristine condition. Philip was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who know him.

Philip is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie, his three daughters, Jennifer Lee Sisler of Greenville, NC, Katie Sisler Crosby (Kevin) of Charlotte, NC, and Tana Megan Byrum (Matt) of Chapel Hill, NC; four grandsons, Maxwell Crosby, Elliott Byrum, Zachary Crosby, and Remy Crosby; a granddaughter, Mary Collins Byrum; a brother, Timothy H. Sisler (Elaine) of Fairlawn, Ohio; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lawrence and Mary Lee Buchanan of Canton, Ohio.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 12:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Ahoskie, Ahoskie, NC, with the Rev. Dr. Jesse Croom and Rev. Anita Thompson, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the sanctuary and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or online by clicking here

Debbie and family Patsy and I are so very sorry for your loss. I spoke with Phil on 3/25 while he was driving to Charlotte. He was a great friend and team player with me at Perdue. I will miss our phone calls and being able to give him a hard time about Ohio sports.

Our prayers are with you and the family.
